It is well known that the most common complaint clients have against lawyers in the State of Arizona is the issue of lack of communication between Attorney and the Client.
At Arizona Legal Matters, we have been exploring different methods of Attorney-Client communication that fulfills a few goals – first off, is for the client to be informed and confident as to the status of their case, and the secondary goal of not charging the client more than necessary when it comes to attorney’s fees.
What we have decided on is to use Clio Client Portals. Clio is the software the Firm uses to manage cases, documents, billing, etc. Client Portals is a relatively new feature offered by Clio. Client’s have the option of downloading the app (Clio for Clients) or accessing the portal through their email. This portal gives an avenue of securely sharing documentation within the case to the clients.
We share ALL documentation through the Clio Client Portals from each case. As we get the documentation, Reanna Ortiz processes the documentation, labels it, and shares it to the client through the portal. Every time we get documentation, so does the client; the exact same day. The Clio Client Portal makes it easier for clients to find everything in their case; it’s all there in the portal.
This is just one of several mechanisms that our Firm has put into place to improve client communications with the Firm. Clients are not billed for the time it takes to upload documents to the portal. This furthers our goal of both sharing information timely and reducing client billing.
